THE SOLUTIONS GROUP CELEBRATES 20 YEARS!

January 2011 - The Solutions Group is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month - we launched our company in January 1991. Hard to believe!

We've worked with over 200 companies locally and nationally since, and taught and coached hundreds of leaders.

We wish to thank all the great people we've had the opportunity to assist and get to know. It has been and will continue to be our greatest pleasure to be of service to you, our clients.

HIRING RIGHT – MAKE A PAIN A PRIORITY

January 2011 - In previous articles and blog entries, I’ve discussed this theme. I continue to write about it because so many companies put the priority of hiring right, at the bottom of their “to do” lists.

I am beginning to have some new thoughts about why hiring is considered to be such a low priority. I used to think it was because hiring is a pain in the neck—so many steps, so many interviews and just so much time before the “right candidate” is located, hired and onboard. Click to read more

HIRING INTERVIEWS – GETTING THE BEST INFORMATION USING THE “DRILL DOWN QUESTION”

January 2011 - In the last year, I’ve become aware of a new curiosity in the business world with the art of asking the right questions. There is a mystery connected with “drilling down” just the right way to get to the “right answer.”

In fact, I don’t think there needs to be mystery at all attached to asking “drill down questions.” It all comes down to properly using the active listening skills you probably learned early in your career—but using them differently.
